Sunday am was the day that God helped everyone get through the 3 hour practice of 8,300 meters and the 4 mile run for the first half of the day. I applaud Group 1 for staying positive and supporting one another through the sets. As hard as it was everyone to wrap their minds around what they were going to be faced with, they stayed true to finishing the workout with no excuses and completed it with as much spirit and speed as they had left. Maddie, Erik and Matt did 12 x200 fly in groups of 3. They did great but Maddie crushed the boys on the set. Nice work Holker.
Breaststrokers held there own with the same set and getting much stronger through out the set. Victor , Zach, Adam, Mama, and Heather keep each other company . All where averaging about 3:15 but fast times were all around 3:06, Victor went crazy and popped off a 2:48 on number 12.
Backstrokers were Brian and Will. Reall nice solid backstrokes today with a steady decrease in times throughout as well. Brian held 2:46 average to descend to 2:36. That was good. Will held 3:08 to come down to 2:56. Best I have seen Will Erickson train EVER!
Everyone did a wonderful job on finishing the mainset of specialty strokes/ freestyle set. I definately was even more impressed with the sprint 6 x100's free after the set. People to mention that did them on the given interval and made all of them out of the group was; Maddie and Heather on 1:25, Adam on 1:20 and Victor on 1:15.
We have group 2 doing the set this afternoon and I look forward to equal or greater results again. Everyone is down for the count (getting a nap) for a couple of hours. We are loading up the van once again at 3pm to swim.
The trip has been excellent thus far!
